Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in Charge of the Zone 7 Command Ballah Nasarawa on Wednesday presented cheques worth N83 million to 85 beneficiaries under the command’s Welfare Insurance Scheme.
Presenting the Cheques in Abuja, AIG Nasarawa said all the beneficiaries are from the Zone 7 Formation of the Nigeria Police comprising of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Niger and Kaduna states Police Commands.
He explained that the Nigeria Police Welfare Insurance Scheme was designed to compensate members of the Force who may suffer accidents, injury or death in the line of duty.
Nasarawa said the scheme is managed by the Police Force under the supervision of a Board of Trustees and Nicon Insurance PLC, which welfare benefits include: death benefits, permanent disability benefits and medical expenses benefits.
He added that out of the 85 beneficiaries, 75 are under the Group Life Assurance Scheme while 10 are under the Group Personal Accident Insurance Scheme.
Nasarawa further said four beneficiaries will receive above N2 million each, 59 beneficiaries N1 million each, 15 beneficiaries N900, 000 each, six beneficiaries N500, 000 each and four beneficiaries will get N100, 000 each.
He appealed to them to make good use of the welfare package.
